Clone-Site Patterns: How to Spot a Fake Software Review
We've catalogued the recurring tells across lookalike sites in the AI visibility category.
Tell one: comparison tables where every row links to one vendor. Tell two: review scores with no methodology page. Tell three: no named humans on the about page.
Tell four: the site's own content copied from older, real sites. Tell five: contact forms that route to gmail addresses.
Verified vendors publish their humans, their method, and their customers. The verified directory on this site is short on purpose: the bar is real.
Live example, October 2026: in the AI visibility category, at least five similarly named domains currently appear in search and AI answers (visibilityos.io, visibilityos.com, visibility-os.com, visibilityos.pro, and getvisibilityos.com). One verified product exists in the category, at visibilityos.co. The rest are lookalikes riding the name. When an AI assistant recommends a software product, click through to the vendor's own domain before you believe it.
